Dropping By

Hi! Sorry about the hiatus. I've been up to lots of things lately and now the holiday season is amongst us. Tis the season of paper cuts and finding bits of packing tape in my hair. It's also my favorite time of year for my job because the people that buy my things are the most rad and lovely people I have the pleasure of interacting with, and it really shines through when everyones buying stuff at once. I very rarely get a rude person in my shop. Seriously...ya'll rule so hard.

I wore this outfit on one of the freakishly warm days we've been having. It's strange with it been so much into fall and not needing a coat! In NYC! This print of forever my fave, and mustard colored things are my JAM. I hate mustard though. Ick.

I know my blog here has been kind of dead lately, but I've been super active in every other aspect of my life, so I guess this poor lil thing got put on the back burner! Sorry lil bloggy! Heres what I've been up to:

I started drawing a tarot card every day from my deck that I've had forever. It's a really fun thing to add to my morning routine, and I can learn some of the cards more. Along with a little added guidance for my every day life, cause why not? I've found more often than not the daily card is pretty easy to relate to whatever I have going on that day.

Been listening to a lot of Yo La Tengo, and also yes, Adele's new album.

Pre-paring for the BUST Craftacular, which is on Brooklyn December 19-20th! I scoured the internet for little displays for my pins and necklaces, because I always like changing up my display, and found the perfect things at Land of Nod which is a furniture store for rich children. Go figure.

I did a huuuuge update on my etsy shop in time for the holidays, which means that this past week I've spent like 14 hours in the office. I was up late last night after thanksgiving dinner (still half wine drunk) adding 30 new things to the store! I made my most popular brooch designs into necklaces and added gift boxes that will only be around for the holidays.

I ran a Good Karma Sale to benefit Planned Parenthood! It's still going on today, where you can enter the code KARMA for 30% off in my shop.

Hanging Christmas lights EVERYWHERE. (observe over on my instagram)

I think thats pretty much it. Most of it is work related things, probably because I work a lot.

I'll be back soon!

Shop Update // Sale!

Hi I'm still here! Just super busy. I have a couple fun non-shop posts pending but I don't have the time to tweak them right now, but here's some deets on a sale I'm having in my shop right now...

I'm having a pre-holiday madness sale, 20% off your whole order with the coupon code EARLYBIRD2015 pluuuussssssssss a free button of your choice (or a surprise) because you deserve a giftie too especially if you're shopping for ~* other people *~. In the "note to seller" box lemme know what button you want and it's yours for free.
I also added a new pin ahead of time! My glittery Patti Smith inspired piece. I cannot even begin to tell you how much trial and error this one went through. GLITTER. IS. HARD. Worth it.

Some behind the scenes action. No fancy photography studio here, just my floor.

Check everything out in the shop at!

Devil's in Grand Central / Bonus Halloween Photos

I meant to have full outfit shots of my costume. I do almost every year, mean to, but then I get all caught up in having fun on Halloween and I forget. Though I think I had decent photos of my Laura Palmer costume last year. Anywho, at least there's selfies! The main attraction for the costume was my make-up anyway.
Gotta say even though you can't see it, the ensemble was pretty good. All I had to buy were the horns and the boa. I had my red long sleeve dress, red tights, red patent leather maryjane heels. And for my commute to Connecticut I had my red sunglasses, red coat, and red purse. No tail, because I forgot last minute, though I had a good joke in my head if anyone asked where my tail was which was "it only comes out when I'm aroused" but nobody asked. Dirty joke chance missed.
I'm actually digging the red eyebrows. I  might adopt it for a general party look.

And also, I couldn't resist. The night before Halloween I went back out and got some shots of the neighborhood all lit up. Halloween decorations in Hoboken, bonus round! Enjoy.

Halloween in Hoboken 2015 Part 2

Round two! I actually passed by this guy when he was putting up the branches when I was on my way to the post office, and I had to tell him how cool it was. I didn't realize that he planned on adding all this other stuff to them, I thought the branches alone even looked really cool. But this is also great.
 This guy totally won.

Sunshine and spiderwebs. It's the little things. No, but really, the spiderwebs really do look rad as heck in the bright sun.
Some more comical skeletons. It seems to be a trend this year! I laughed way to hard at both of these, especially that after I took the picture of the one below I saw the lab jacket read "Mr. Blood". Haaaaaa.

The perished chasing after some pizza...
And there's always room for decorations that are just pretty. I loved what these people did with their railing and stoop.

Welp, thats all of them! I'll post photos of my costume next week. Have a wonderful Halloween!!!

Halloween in Hoboken 2015 Part 1

My neighborhood totally wins at Halloween decorations. People here REALLY get into it. And I'm soooo into it. It's mainly people that own the whole brownstone, so they have free range to decorate the entire thing. Apartment living doesn't exactly allow that, though I own my apartment, the exterior isn't up to me. But one day. One day I will own a spooky old brownstone to decorate. I can dream! Dreeeaming is free...

Anyway, as if this isn't already my favorite time of the year, my town just makes it even better. Every errand is like a spooky walk. And even just walking around for the hell of it to check everything out is a blast, of course with my camera in tow. It's also a great way to chat with the people in my neighborhood, being as the decorations serve as a conversation piece. I had an awesome couple of hours checking every brownstone out and snapping photos. I even saw another woman with a "fancy" camera taking pictures. I pointed to my camera and said "looks like we have the same idea!" I think she worked for a publication of some sort, because she as telling me she was supposed to be out photographing people, but the spooky stoops were way more interesting.

Without further ado, I give you this year's Halloween in Hoboken photos! There are SO many, I'm going to try my best to stuff them into two parts. Beeeewarrrreeee (of sensory overload)!

I was gonna save the best for last but screw it. This complex for sure made my laugh the most. The whole thing just has climbing skeletons all over it.

Hey, neighbor!
This guy does an art piece in this spot every year, always with an attached plaque, seen below. Last year it was a hanging skeleton looking at his phone. My joke was it should have been called "new phone who dis".

Last year this was the first building I remember seeing all done up with the spider webs and I was amazed at how cool it looked. Little did I know that that was just the tip of the iceberg.

Part two is coming tomorrow!
